The main problems associated with steel gutters are corroding surfaces (rust) joints that are leaking and blocked outlets.
Surface treatments on rusty gutters are all down to the preparation of the surface. Most surface treatments can only be seen as short-term solutions. Our advice always would be to have a gutter lining fitted, which comes with a 20-year guarantee.
The long-term repair of leaking gutter joints is extremely difficult and most repairs can only be considered as an emergency measure. However, we have developed over the years a good system, which incorporates a bond break that helps to overcome the problems of expansion and contractions. Our success rate is good in solving this problem but no guarantees are given on gutter joint repairs. Again gutter lining is the preferred solution which give 20 year plus of problem free leaking gutters.
Blocked Outlets
Blocked outlets can range from simple detritus blocking the outlet at the top to down pipes that over the years have become solid with spoil.
Each blockage is looked at individually or with recommendations offered to sort the problem out.
