Health & Safety

Safety is TGM's number one priority

With our full time, dedicated Health & Safety officer we have developed a true safety culture within our team. All operatives are directly employed, fully inducted and benefit from ongoing training. We undertake site-specific risk assessments before beginning every job and carry out unannounced safety and job audits. TGM Ltd guarantee to meet and exceed your responsibility for work carried out at height.

Do you know that the legal responsibility for making sure that operators working at height adhere to good practices lies with the party who authorises the work: in other words, the client – you.

Working at Height Regulations

Falls from height are the most common cause of fatal injury and the second most common cause of injury to employees, accounting for 15% of all such injuries. As a result, in April 2005 the HSE produced the new Working at Height Regulations.

The legislation draws from existing regulations and has added new requirements for anyone employing people to work at height. The regulations lay down mandatory requirements for employers, employees and self-employed persons to risk assess any work being carried out at height.

The assessment should ensure that work is planned before commencement and is carried out by competent trained staff with appropriate supervision. Site specific method statements should also be supplied setting out a safe system of work. TGM meets and in some cases exceeds the new regulations by giving you peace of mind when using us for your working at height requirements.

TGM has a comprehensive safety policy including an environmental statement and full arrangements for monitoring and complying with the safe systems it has in place. This safety policy is regularly reviewed and updated to comply with new legislation and requirements.

All new staff attend a comprehensive safety induction program that includes all safety legislation and training on how to protect themselves, the client’s employees and the general public. New staff are also trained in the practical skills of scaffold tower assembly, accessing a roof and the safe use of all equipment.

A major part of this training covers the completion certificates and risk assessments with on going training devoted to our own risk assessment package and how to complete a site specific risk assessment for every job.

We can assure you that here at TGM we comply fully with the Health and Safety Legislation.
